28 April Next-Gen Console NamesBy now you should know that the Nintendo Revolution is not in fact
called the Revolution (a name I liked btw). It will be called Wii
(as in We), yeah it's kinda stupid I know. This is pretty common
for consoles to have different names while in development, the 360 was
once known as Xenon, or project Xenon if you want to sound cool. Well here's the real shocker. My "sources" tell me that the PS3 is in fact not going to be called the PS3. Playstion will be taking a page from the book of Nintendo and their next gen console will be name the PS POO. HAHAHA!! I know my entries are normally serious, but it's Friday, and I'm stuck at work. So for those of you stuck at work as well, enjoy a laugh courtesy of me., More Halo 3 Rumors, IGN SUCKSSo the Halo 3 rumors have been going on forever, first Big Billy said
something, then Moore did, both of those statements were quickly swept
under the rug and denied as being true. Then there was the
Clubskill blunder the other day which spread some baseless story about
Peter Moore confirming Halo 3 at E3. Now it's IGN's turn to throw
more junk into the rumor mill. Here's my favorite part of their
article on the H3 rumor: "IGN learned today from independent sources who recently spoke with Microsoft executives." Yeah I heard from from some guy who knows some guy, so that's worth writing a story, what the hell is that? That's actually a perfect transition to my next talking point, IGN SUCKS. They suck hard, long, and well. I try to be nice about all sites, like teamxbox, they just rub me the wrong way for some reason. Although you'll never hear me trash them, because let's face it even though I don't like the site I still visit cuz it provides so much for the Xbox fans that I can't deny what they do is good. IGN on the other hand, just plain sucks, I know I'm being so descriptive and painting a beautiful picture in your mind with vaste vocabulary on this entry. If you're looking for good gaming sites to visit check my list, or just ask me cuz I regularly visit a lot more than is on that list. IGN's H3 Rumor 27 April Devil360Some of you by now have heard of seen the website for Devil360.
If you haven't it's a site that features a picture of an all black Xbox
360 and the date 6/6/06 (I love how that works for US and Europeans
alike). No one really knows what it is, at least no one I've
talked to. Is it an all black limited edition from MS? Or
is it just a site that will be offering case mods? Could it be
something completely different? While the date say 6/6/06, the
launch date for the site comes 2 days earlier on the 4th, so I guess
we'll have to wait and see. Halo 3 and Peter Moore RumorIf you're a news junkie like me then by now you've read the "Peter
Moore said Halo 3 will be at E3 rumor" This story originated with
ClubSkill, then went to Xboxaddict, and from there was picked up by the
blog Xboxic. Well being the well informed gamer that I am I had
to go to all these sites and tell them they were wrong, it actually was
a quote from Chris Morris of CNN. I don't really fault Xboxaddict
or Xboxic since they were just reporting what someone else said, but
Clubskill had no kind of link or source for this info, just a little
reckless if you ask me. Xboxic was even nice enough to give me
mention for correcting them. That actually made me realize that I
don't even have a link for them in my list, and I do visit that blog a
couple times a day. Basically if you like Joqstiq and Kotaku, and
are mainly an Xbox gamer, then you need to read Xboxic. Here's link to the Xboxic article Look to my links for the Xboxic homepage. My 360's blogging nowI know a lot of the MSN bloggers are like me and either have now or in
the past had a couple blogs. I had 3-4 at one point but I try to
focus on this one for now. Well now not am I blogging, but my 360
is blogging about my gameplay. It's actually pretty funny, you
all should check it out. My 360's blog 26 April E3 for everyoneWell not exactly, you can't go to the show, neither can I though so
that might make you feel better. Xbox.com has launched an E3
section on their site with some pretty interesting info. There's
an interview with Peter Moore, yeah he's one of those MS VP's with a
sweet home theatre. This is a great interview and makes this time
of year a little les depressing, yeah I get depressed cuz I'll never go
to E3. This year coverage of E3 will be available on marketplace. That's pretty cool, no more looking through 15 blogs to find the newest info, of course if you want info on PS3 and the Revolution I doubt marketplace will be the place to find it. In a very stunning move though not only will there be video on marketplace during E3 but there will also be DEMOS. That's right, some of the very same demos that all those lucky SOB's at E3 will get to play we will get to eperience. Now I'm just wondering if there's an expiration date on these demos or will we be able to keep them. I'm not sure, but I don't really care. For someone who has made it a life goal to make it to E3 before he dies I really feel like MS threw me a bone on this one, thanks. Link to article with Peter Moore 24 April Boring but kinda coolLately it seems like Datel has been rolling out the accessories, which
they actually have. Part of me feels like they're trying to make
up for ruining halo 2. Okay I'll be honest, it wasn't
actually them but AR made it way too easy for any 13 year old who mowed
his neighbor's lawn to mod me into an a tantrum that the Incredible
Hulk would envy. Now the last 2 Datel products I blogged about were pretty big news, the XSATA was cool, and the headset adapter was a no-brainer and basically a gift to all 360 gamers. The newest thing I'm seeing from them isn't exactly that big of a deal. They've come out with a play and charge kit. I can sense the excitement. So why would something so seemingly insignificant make it onto a prestigious blog such as mine? Well it's $5 cheaper than the first party play and charge kit. Wow, this entry is very uncommon for me, just in terms of the writing style. I guess I was feeling creative. 21 April The Rumors heard round the worldSo every site it seems is reporting on this Spanish forum post from
someone who supposedly works at Microsoft. Some of this stuff I
just don't see happening, like $100 hd dvd and a $100 price drop for
the 360. Of course if the 360 goes to $300 in price and the PS3
comes in at $500-$600 then Sony really is dead. Of this list I'd
say with 95% certainty that Kameo 2 is being made and the Sega virtual
console rumor is true, cuz I've gotten that info from other people. Forum Post (in spanish) Here's the translation, or at least what is said to be the translation, I don't know spanish. -Xbox 360 Premium Pack price is going to drop $100 in October. -Xbox 360 Core Pack price is going to drop $80 in October -Gears of War is going to be released the last week of October with an huge marketing campaign at global scale. -HD-DVD for the next month of September. get me pretty excited, I'm one of those people with a crazy looking
original xbox. I did skins, changes the jewel, added about 25
led's, so the idea of customizing it was always something I was
into. I've been interest in putting some led's in my 360
controller, you know for the guide button and the other buttons, but
just haven't been all too motivated. Well that's all changed. The first wave of case mods for the 360, well the controller really, will be hitting sites soon. A company named Extreme Enterprise will be manufacturing new cases for the 360 controller and it's gonna be sweet. Read more at Xbox-Scene 19 April Headset AdapterI think the title pretty much says it all. Apparently Datel's
realeasing a headset adapter so you can use any headset with the
360. I'm not gonna say much, cuz there's a much better place to
read about and see this. The FNG Spot 18 April Nyko Gameface 360Source: Joystiq
Well Joystiq beat me to it, which they do 99% of the time, it's just nice to blog about something before them cuz I just love Joystiq.
Nyko, maker of the Intercooler (I have one, it's works), have introduced a new product for making custom faceplates. It's basically a system with software, templates, and a clear faceplate to make you own. You design the faceplates with their software, print them out, pop it into the faceplate, and poof you're done. Ok well there's a back piece you have to put on as well but it still sounds very easy.
This is something I'll probaby pick up to toy with, even though I have that lovely E3 faceplate. I work in printing so I could probably come up with some pretty cool stuff, plus I do have access to better equipment the inkjet that most people will print on. I'm curious to see how easy it will be to adapt the template into Illustrator or InDesign, hell maybe their software will be cool. I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I just love all this customization for the 360 since I went through a lot to trick out my original Xbox. I should post some pics of my old Xbox and my current setup, maybe I'll work on that, let me know if you care.
17 April Should I drink it?Ok, I got 125 hits today so I should be able to get a response. Now if you're all over the web you've heard about the Final Fantasy XII potion they're selling in Japan. Lots of blogs and sites have talked about it, and how incredibly nasty it is. Well I've had a bottle of this stuff for a few weeks now, and the question is should I drink it? I drink a lot of energy drinks so I'm used to odd tasting things, but I really don't know about this one. It's just sits there on a shelf daring me to drink it, but I don't know if I should. So leave a comment, yes or no. Who's testing games?I feel like a lot of my blogs lately have been negative about the 360
or MS in general, which is so out of character for me, but here we go
again. Now I'll start off saying I know games are buggy, there are issues and such, but with the small amount of games on the 360 you'd think they would be able to find these problems before releasing games. We do hear the rumors about games being pushed back due to problems, and that's great, but it just seems like lots of games are making it to the stores with issues. Oblivion and MLB 2k6 are the latest to have problems. So while people are waiting for an MLB patch others are holding the A button while Oblivion boots. I just don't get why a game is released and the next day I see on multiple forums people reporting the same problems. How come some 15 year old in Iowa can find a problem after 5 hours of playing a game but these problems aren't picked up in testing? That's a serious question too, I know some people who work for MS do check out my blog from time to time, so what's the deal? 12 April OMG Real NewsSo much for no good news before E3, but you should still check out Haloaded's space. Datel has unveiled a new 360 accessory, and this one is actually very useful. It's called the XSATA and for those of you who think the hard drive on the 360 doesn't give you enough space then this is what you need to get, at least until MS unveils the new HDD. It's a device that attaches directly to your 360 hdd and allows you to share files between your pc and 360. Now you can just transfer saves to you pc to free up some much needed room. If you're an arcade junkie or playing FF XI then you need this. My only question is what idiot chose the color? Read more from Codejunkies 11 April No news for a while, check out HaloadedSo with E3 just around the corner in May we can expect, and are
experiecing, a slow down in gaming related news. All the companies are
holding info until E3 (have I mentioned how much I hate this time of
year cuz I'll never go to E3?) so the I won't be blogging as much. I
mainly like to comment on the very interesting news stories, the stuff
I have to visit 7 sites to find. I love adding all my backround
knowledge to the news and bringing news before it breaks big so the
odds that I'll be blogging a lot in the next few weeks are slim.
So if you're looking for another cool blog to read check out Haloaded. I've seen this guy on the Xbox.com forums for a long time now, and he's cool. His blog is different from mine, but he'll give you the Xbox and 360 news, as well as always hooking up the newest screenshots from upcoming games. So check his blog out, it's pretty cool, much more stuctured that mine. I kidna think of my san space as the more ghetto one, cuz everyone else's that I see is so nice, but I do have good content. I'm even going to add him to my list of links, even though I swore I'd never just add regular people's blogs, he earned it. 07 April Diamond Card and something disturbingWell I got my Diamond Card today, with the famous spelling error. Seriously, I work in printing, not cards, but someone should've caught that. There's a big part of me that believes they did see it and just let it go anyways.
DISTURBING **WARNING**
So anyone with a MSN space knows you can see how many hits you get and where people are refered from, if from another site. Well every now and then someone does a google search they end up at my blog. If I click the refering address it will take me to a google page of what they were searching. Well I got another one of those google hits tonight so I clicked to link to see what they were searching for. It turned out this person was googling "naked 12 year old girls". What does this have to do with my blog? Well I made a comment about the Japanese and naked 12 year old girls a few days back and I guess that got this persons attention. What the hell is wrong with people? Street Fighter 2 infoSource: Joystiq.com FINALLY!!! We get some info on Street Fighter 2, the info and playable game were at MS' event in Canada (sucks for those of you at the new york press event a few weeks ago). They're saying that game will hit the marketplace by the end of April costing 800-1200 MP points (that's $10-$15 for those you reaching for your calculators). This is the game I've been looking forwards to the most for Xbox Live Arcade, and I think anyone over 18 or so would agree. I wasted so many hours in the arcade jamming away at buttons and destroying joysticks playing this, not to mention the counless hours spent in basements. So what's the other classic fighters that should come to the Arcade? My vote is Mortal Kombat 2 and Virtua Figher, if you've got a better idea then let me know. 06 April Tomb Radier DelayedUPDATE: According to Spong.com
they've spoken with a rep from Eidos who says the game is still slated
for release on the 11th. It's always fun to have weird rumors
like this circulating the community. Spong That's what Xboxic is reporting. It's an odd story really. Apparently there is a scene in chapter 2 with girls dancing in the background. Now when they were making the same they left the background dancers naked and figured they'd add clothes later, but they didn't. Even more interesting if that they gave the dancers nipples. I don't see what purpose this serves, other than some giggles around the office, but obviously a bonehead move. I haven't seen this story reported elsewhere yet, but I'm still looking for confirmation. Read the full article at Xboxic Anime on 360 MarketplaceYes it' true, well only if you live in Japan. They plan to put up
some anime for download on the marketplace. This is a perfect
opportunity for me to tell everyone something that for some reason they
don't get. Now I know that lots of gamers also like anime, but I hate to tell you, anime sucks! First of all the animation itself looks crappy to me. All the people look the same with their freaky hair and Michael Jackson noses. Then you get into the animation of their mouths. Do me a favor, next time you're watching anime mute the tv and play a Slick Rick cd, it'll look like they're rappin along with the music. The stories are weird, I just don't get it. Maybe it's just me, but anime is stupid. 360 webcam SpecsApparently a spec sheet for the 360 has shown up and is all over the net by now. I found the story at Kotaku Camera Specs: USB 2.0 bus-powered device Smooth, near DV quality video up to VGA 640x480 at 30 FPS High-def images; still photos up to SVGA 1280x960 (1.3 Mp) Manually adjustable variable focus 2 feet to infinity Field of View 43 degrees On board image processor Digital zoom, cropping Auto exposure, white balance , gamma correction, sharpness Long cable to reach around large TVs Includes a headset for great audio.\ Take a look at the actual sheet thanks to 360 Galaxy We'll see how this whole camera dealy works out, but I can see some crazy things coming from it. I hope there's interaction with games through it, otherwise it's solely a perverts dream (wait aren't I a pervert?) and adds nothing to the gaming experience. The only use I can see is using it to see gamers of the oppposite sex, I'm not really interested in looking at the 14 year old boy who's cussing me out. |
